Search now extra hot!!!A small, but well established, privately held specialty metal fabrication job shop is seeking a CHIEF MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER to join its engineering / manufacturing team in Darlington, South Carolina, near Florence.
Will be among the top three engineers within the entire company.
The company specializes in the design and fabrication of custom large scale structures particularly industrial ducting for air handling systems; not HVAC systems.
They are also heavily involved in the manufacture acoustical dampening / noise deadening products.
My client company is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer with an expertise in the mechanics of air flow like volumetric flow, CFD, and thermal expansion.
Additional experience in 3D Solid Modeling using Autodesk Inventor is a big plus, but not required.
This job has been created to due to continued growth in their business.
The Darlington plant has doubled in size since last year.
The Chief Engineer job is a great opportunity to join a successful family oriented job shop manufacturer, which can give you greater freedom, control, & authority over your design projects from the first RFQ, through initial design and fabrication, to final testing and delivery.
Will be able to wear many different hats within the company, which will allow the hired engineer to avoid becoming pigeon-holed into the same boring task over and over again.
Will report directly to the General Manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must have at least 15 years of experience designing products that must take into account Air Flow, Volumetric Flow, and Thermal Expansion, like the ducting associated with a large industrial air handling systems or fans.
CFD experience preferred.
A BSME is preferred, but not required.
My client will seriously consider a non-degreed engineer, who learned his or her trade on the job, but must have the above listed experience.
Absolutely MUST HAVE a strong natural attention to detail and organizational skills.
The more demanding the better.
Hands-on knowledge and experience with the tools utilized in Metal Fabrication is a strong plus.
Must be able to perform mathematical calculations related to physical characteristics and performance of products as well as business related calculations.
Must be able to analyze and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to integrate solutions into existing processes.
3D Solid Modeling CAD (Autodesk Inventor) is a big plus, but is not required.
Must have strong verbal, written, and especially reading skills.
Prior customer interface experience is a strong preference.
Must have an ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, suppliers, and other employees of the organization.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
